OUR NONPROFIT MISSION

Founding member Josef Birdsong (7th Dan, Shihan) started Aikido of Austin in order to provide training and education in the practice of aikido to dojo members, ACC students, and the central Texas community. That tradition continues today.

Founded in 1984, Aikido of Austin is a 40-year, volunteer run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies on contributions from our members and generous donations from our growing Austin Texas community to meet our organizational needs. All donations directly support Aikido of Austin’s mission and our programs.
